Our Services

Somerset Sight provides specialist practical and emotional support in Somerset for people of all ages who are blind or visually impaired.
Founded in 1919, in response to injured soldiers returning from World War 1, our services are designed with and for people who are visually impaired.

Our core services include a wide range of low visual aids, magnifiers and specialist lighting, a mobile advisory service which visits throughout our rural county, technology support, emotional support, talking books, activity groups and our flagship volunteer visiting service.

Our 12 staff and 300 amazing volunteers provide support at home, organise social events and activities and train others to understand the needs of people with sight loss.
