Somerset Sight’s Country House Fair & Treasure Trove Sale was held this year in the beautiful grounds of Yarlington House near Wincanton.
The sun made an appearance for this spectacular biennial event, with the charity welcoming 1,000 people through the gates, raising over £10,000 to support Somerset Sight’s work across the county.
Carolyn de Salis, who kindly hosted the event at Yarlington House, says “I was delighted with the whole day and especially enjoyed the classic cars which looked so elegant”.
Somerset Sight provides practical and emotional support for all people with sight loss to enable them to remain independent, healthy and active. Founded in 1919 and honoured with the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, Somerset Sight operates throughout the county supporting more than 3,500 people and their families.
Bella Flood, Chair of Trustees, praised the charity’s volunteers and staff and the many stall owners for creating a memorable event that helped fund and publicise the charity’s ongoing work with the sight impaired.
