Response to Covid-19 outbreak
Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Somerset Sight is here to support you and to assist you through this difficult time.

On the new advice from the Government to avoid non -essential contact, we have taken the decision to cancel all our socials, events activities and training until the end of April when we will review the situation.

The Volunteer Visiting Service will continue and volunteers will, in most cases, be telephoning their service users on a regular basis rather than the traditional face to face contact. Please liaise through your co ordinator should you need any additional information or advice.

We are putting into place new telephone support groups so that those of you who wish to, can remain in social contact and enjoy a support network, whilst remaining in the safety of your own home. If you would like to join this new service please call us on 01823 333818 and speak to Kate or Heidi.

If you are having difficulty with shopping, accessing your medicines or are worried about something please do not hesitate to call us. We may be able to help or pass you on to someone who can.

The emotional support service will continue.

Should you need anything from the Resource room please call us and we can send it to you. For people who would like additional support or need to visit the Resource Room please contact us to make an appointment.

We will continue to offer the talking book service.

Due to the age of their volunteers, TDAN will no longer provide the talking newspaper until further notice.

The staff of Somerset Sight are here to help you so please contact us on 01823 333818 if you need our support.
